There are some places that are just important to us. For whatever reason, be it something specific about the place, or memories that you’ve made there, or the timing of a trip, these places just unlock a sort of happiness and freedom that day-to-day life can’t.
For me, that place is Block Island. Block Island is tiny – 9.734 square miles, with just over 1,000 full-time residents – but it’s full of some of the most incredible natural beauty I’ve come across in New England. It’s 13 miles south of Point Judith, RI, and the trip there on the ferry just breaks you from the mainland, and takes you away.
We’ve made it a tradition to travel to Block Island every summer, and this time around I decided to document some of my favorite things about my happy place.
